Maryland Part II: MILKSHAKE CONCERT!

One of the best things about where my parents live in Maryland is that in less than a half an hour you can be in DC, Baltimore or Annapolis. Three really great cities with so much to do.

I was looking for fun things to do while we are in town and found out that the kid's band "Milkshake" was doing a free concert at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore this past weekend. If you've watched the Noggin channel, you've probably seen them--the lead singer always wears a big tu-tu and they sing "...I've got a big bottle of sunshine..." So my mom and the girls went to Inner Harbor for the day. We had a really wonderful day. Tess was absolutely ecstatic about the concert-one of those moments that brings tears to your eyes because she was SO excited.

This first picture is before the concert started. Notice how her feet are off the ground because she was jumping up and down so much while the band set up.
Tess really had a blast dancing. I took a couple of really great videos of her dancing. Notice how many of the other kids are just standing around listening to the music--not Tess! Here is a really funny video with the band playing "Doe a deer..." If you read the old post of "Busy Tess" you remember that she likes to play "Do, Re, Mi..." on the piano.

Here is another dancing video I had to add because of her adorable "head bob."

There also was some fun crafts for kids to do. Tess and my mom enjoyed making a styrofoam boat. It was pretty cool making a boat right there on the shore with the big boats in the background. It was a great day with so much going on around the Inner Harbor. We saw a snippet of the Kinetic Sculpture Race/Parade (huge sculptures that were moved by people on bikes.) The race went 15 miles and we got downtown just in time to see a giant pink poodle rounding the corner. There were a lot of street performers out doing magic tricks, music, and balloon sculptures. Gracie spent a good part of the day like this:
