Two very unrelated subjects but both gave me great laugh today.
I called my mom this morning and she didn't answer. I figured she had already left for church so I didn't leave a message. A little bit later she called me on my cell phone while I was in the car and immediately said, "Are you OK?!" I told her everything was fine. Why would she think something was wrong? She said she missed my call and when she called my home line, Gracie answered the phone. She was afraid something was odd when I called and didn't leave a message and then an 11 month old was answering the phone instead of me. After being puzzled for a minute, we then realized what had happened. I let Gracie play with our phone yesterday (I know, I know, it's not a toy, but it DOES keep her occupied for more than 2 minutes.) She likes to hold it up to her forehead and say "Hello!" Well, apparently yesterday when she was playing with it she somehow erased our voicemail message and replaced it with herself babbling "Hello!" Wish I could somehow play it here, it's very funny!
The next story is about Tess today. In her Sunday School class she was learning about Jesus feeding the 5,000 (found in John 6:1-15) and on the way home I asked her what she had learned.
She began, "There were thousands and thousands and thousands of people and Jesus fed them."
"What did he feed them?" I asked.
"Five pieces of bread and two fish."
Impressed that she had paid such good attention to the details of her lesson, I then asked, "How did Jesus feed all those people with only five loaves of bread?"
"He cut them up into TEENY, TINY pieces!" ("teeny, tiny" being spoken with a very high pitched "small" voice.)
I about died laughing in the car. Ok, so she didn't get the lesson of the miracle of the story (although cutting up that many pieces would still be a miracle) but it sure made me laugh!
