Buster

Husband to late Theresa. Father to James and Mary. Grandfather to Stephanie and Stacy. Great Grandfather to Theresa (Tess) and Gracie. Coast Guard Chief Boatswain's Mate. Pilot. Police Sergeant. Airplane builder in his backyard. Constant re-builder of cars, trucks, planes, etc. Movie star good looks. Generous giver. Teller of stories.
My Grandpa Buster.

My 88 year old Grandpa passed away last night. We were very close and many memories have been flooding back today. Rocking on the porch while he sang, "One-sy, Two-sy, I love you-sy...", driving me to kindergarten (frequently with a stop to McDonalds on the way), carrying me to my bed when I'd fall asleep on the couch watching late night TV with Grandma, the many, many inside jokes he and I would always laugh at, his wonderful stories that we heard again and again (like the one of how he and my grandmother met --cute spunky Italian girl from Brooklyn on vacation with her girlfriends to Washington DC asks the Police Officer with the striking light blue eyes for directions to the White House...), the way he'd light up and smile when I'd come to visit, hearing him sing "Love letters in the sand", the way he called me darlin' with his slight southern accent.

He was greatly loved and I miss him already.
