In December, Joel's mom took my sister-in-law, myself, and Tess to see a professional performance of The Nutcracker. Tess, who has always enjoyed doing her own "ballet" was enraptured by the performance. As the curtain rose, she looked at me and signed "BEAUTIFUL", smiled and then hugged my arm. At that point I knew that casual talks about her potentially taking a ballet class were going to change.
For Christmas, Joel parent's helped pay for ballet classes for her. Today was her first class and before she went, I wanted to take a few pictures of her. I was thinking of just a cute picture of her smiling in her leotard, but instead these were the dramatic poses she came up with.
Quite the ballerina in training. We are so excited for this new way she can express herself.
