Grand Prix

As a first year Sparkie, Tess was able to enter the AWANA Grand Prix at our church. The kids start with a block of wood and the clubbers (with a parent's help) design, cut out and paint a car to race! Tess and Joel decided on a speedy car shape with an American design.

Red nail polish provided the perfect red for her car!
Boy, that track was pretty high-tech! Not all like the simple track I remember racing my hot-dog themed Grand Prix car on twenty five years ago!
Cars all lined up for design judging.
Tess' car did pretty well, and although she didn't receive a trophy, she had a blast! What a great opportunity to learn good sportsmanship and cheer on your friends!
Gracie enjoyed playing with Tess' car and looks forward to competing in the Cubbie Boat Regatta next year!
