Bedroom
As any homeowner knows, there is always a project that needs to be done, a list that sometimes seems never ending. We have lived in our house almost nine years, and our bedroom is the one room that we have never painted.
So in celebration of our eleven year anniversary on May 29, we finally painted our bedroom!
Our bedroom is the place where we keep all the elephants that we have collected since our honeymoon. We have over fifty elephants from all over the world, many that Joel has brought back from his numerous world travels. They definitely deserved a better looking room to be displayed in!
Each one has a story to tell and I really wish I had kept a running list of where each one was from. I should write down the ones I remember so one day when the girls inherit this grandiose collection, they can appreciate the stories behind each one.
Last year I looked for months for a painting or photograph of elephants to put in our room to commemorate our tenth anniversary. I never could find anything that was right. Then about a month ago I saw this painting. Joel and I both thought it was perfect, so I went back and bought it and hid it as an anniversary gift. One day Joel found where I hid it. Good thing he did, because he was planning on going back and getting it as an anniversary surprise for me! It looks great with the paint color and we really love it!
Joel's parents helped watch the girls so we could knock out the painting quicker but we did let the girls help paint the closet (lots of goopy, drippy paint everywhere!) Ooops! We forgot to cover the nasty raspberry rainbow carpet! Hmm, looks like that project will be next on that never ending list! (Isn't this an adorable painter?)
So in celebration of our eleven year anniversary on May 29, we finally painted our bedroom!

This looks great! I have to admit, our bedroom is usually the last place I think to redecorate. Yours looks so great!
