One of these days I need to write a long entry (or entries) about our homeschool journey. I know there is a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding out there about homeschoolers and I need to express where we are coming from and how it has worked for us. (We love it by the way!)
Part of our schooling is the participation in a wonderful Co-op that meets weekly (again, I'll go into all the details about it another post.) There are around 140 students in our Co-op and in addition to the weekly classes, there are a number extra curricular activities throughout the year. We had two special events in the month of October.
The first event was a Spelling Bee. The Bee was optional and only three out of the fifteen 1st graders decided to participate. Tess had a blast and got second place. She was excited to be in the Bee but what made her REALLY excited was being on the stage and speaking into the microphone!

The first and second place winners for the 1st grade.

Some of the participants.

The second event was Field Day!

It was a very cool fall morning!

I was with the preschool for the morning so I got to see all of Gracie's events but was only able to see Tess from a distance. Go Tess! (The only girl participating in first grade with all those boys!)

Gracie with her friends.

Don't drop that raw egg!

Jumping over the rope.

Three legged race.

What a fun day!
