When Tess was born we started signing to her immediately and her first sign was "dog" at almost 8 months old. By the time she was 2 she knew over 150 signs. It was so great for her to be able to communicate with us so clearly before she could express it with words. I believe her ability to sign helped to develop early language skills, so we were absolutely thrilled when we found the series "Signing Time." I heard about the program when I was taking sign language classes and was so excited when I found the program on our PBS station. I HIGHLY recommend the program to every parent. Check it out on www.signingtime.com.

We've taped all the shows and Tess watches it almost everyday. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I got an email that they were looking for kids for their next video. They were looking for kids 3 and under that could sign at least 4 of 8 signs. We thought, why not? So we made a video and sent it in. Really, we didn't think we would actually be able to go to Salt Lake City for the taping but still thought it would be fun to send a video in anyway. The 8 signs they needed were some of the first ones Tess learned. APPLE, MILK, MORE, CHEESE, CLOUD, STAR, FLOWER, WIND. Well, we didn't get picked (but we were awfully proud!), but we thought we would share the audition video with everyone. Here it is.
