Horse Parade

A town near us has an amazing Christmas horse drawn carriage parade that we look forward to every year. We usually attend the evening candlelight parade which is perfectly beautiful, but also absolutely frigid. This year since it was just the girls and I, we attended the afternoon parade. There is something about all those horses, their clip clops mixed with the jungle of bells and Christmas music that is so magical.
Some cold but excited girls...
Oooing and ahhhing over the beautiful period costumes is a big part of enjoying the parade!
The horses are all decked out in their Christmas best.Look at those painted hooves!
Even the Grinch showed up with his dog horse.
Of course all parades end with a firetruck, this one just happened to be an 1892 antique fire engine pulled by four beautiful horses!
What a great way to start the Christmas holiday!
